We've had the privilege of capturing countless breathtaking love stories amidst the rugged grandeur of the Canadian Rockies. Yet, every so often, a love story unfolds that is so unique it always leaves us a little speechless and the intimate elopement of J & C was one of those days. They chose to celebrate their love in the heart of British Columbia's stunning wilderness and to add a touch of seclusion and personal charm to their wedding, they booked a cozy Airbnb. Their intimate cabin was a perfect setting to prepare for the adventure of a lifetime.

The day began with anticipation and excitement as J & C set out with Alpine Heli, our trusted partner in Golden, BC for aerial adventures. The weather was a little shaky and so we were fully prepared with a plan B in the event we couldn’t fly. We were ready to roll and for J & C, the choice to fly “anywhere” than “nowhere” meant that Mike, our pilot had some freedom to play safe with the weather and find us somewhere suitable to land. Let’s just say, Mike delivered beyond all of our expectations with some incredible views!
J & C were amazing, taking warm up breaks in the heli and opting to save their vows for after the flight due to the wind…they really wanted to hear each others words! It was such a wild experience up there and these two embraced every second.
Elopement ceremony on the Columbia River
With hearts racing and spirits soaring, the couple descended to a picturesque spot on the banks of the Columbia River for their elopement ceremony. The soft babble of the river provided the most tranquil of ambient sound as they exchanged heartfelt vows. The intimacy of this moment was truly remarkable; just the two of them and as photographers, capturing these intimate moments is a real privilege.

As wife and wife, we made our way to the Air BnB fo their own private lunch together and to spend some more quality time with each other. It was a lovely, relaxing time to document some more intimate moments as the rains passed through the valley.

After lunch, we embarked on a journey to Mount 7 to soak up the elevated views over the valley below. The weather continued to play nice and show off with some amazing clouds, every changing light and a chance to enjoy some more fall colours. We couldn't have asked for a more compelling scene. The play of light and shadow was captivating.
