Canadian Rockies Adventure Heli Elopement in Banff
A heli-elopement in Banff offers an unparalleled blend of adventure, romance, and breathtaking landscapes. With its towering peaks, turquoise lakes, and pristine alpine wilderness, the Canadian Rockies create a once-in-a-lifetime setting for your special day. In this blog, we’ll walk you through an unforgettable adventure heli-elopement in Banff, complete with cozy preparations, epic mountain views, and a champagne toast at one of the Rockies' most iconic lakes.
Getting ready at The Juniper Hotel
The day begins at The Juniper Hotel, a boutique retreat nestled on the outskirts of Banff with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Known for its cozy yet contemporary style, The Juniper offers an intimate and relaxing space to prepare for your big day. These two booked the Rundle Cabin to heighten the “Cabin in the woods” feel to their day and had all the time and space they needed to get prepped and set for their incredible day ahead.
Rockies Heli Elopement Ceremony
For couples craving adventure and exclusivity, a heli-elopement ceremony is the ultimate choice. Taking off from Banff, your helicopter ride will whisk you away to a remote alpine location, where you’ll exchange vows surrounded by untouched wilderness. We had been on quite the planning journey with these two, working through a variety of locations and logistics to finally settle on the final plan.
An elopement photography first for us, we facilitated a heli-drop first look. With J in place, high up in the mountains, V flew from the base to meet J and see each other for the first time, on location as she stepped out of the heli. This was a real life Jame Bond movie unfolding in front of us and these two had the most epic and emotive first look.
With so much excitement to process, these two soaked up the experience and brought themselves to a dramatic valley lookout for their ceremony, surrounded by silence and towering peaks.
Elopement photos at Peyto Lake
After the helicopter adventure, we took the scenic drive to Peyto Lake, one of the most iconic spots in Banff National Park. Known for its vivid turquoise waters and wolf-shaped outline, Peyto Lake is a must-visit, whether you are eloping or not! We took advantage of a quiet little space that not many know about so these two could enjoy some more intimate moments together.
Champagne Toast at Bow Lake Elopement
It wasn’t long before we were heading to our final location, Bow Lake. Nestled at the base of Crowfoot Mountain, this serene lake offers a tranquil and picturesque setting to celebrate your elopement. This is and always will be one of our favorite locations and we’ve found that no matter how busy this place gets, we’ve always been able to enjoy some personal space away from the crowds to really help our couples feel like they are not on display. These two popped the champagne and raised a glass together to celebrate such an incredible celebration.
For those that didn’t know, Bow Lake is accessible year around and provides an amazing setting, no matter the weather.
A Canadian Rockies heli-elopement in Banff is the perfect choice for couples seeking a combination of wild adventure and intimate romance. From the cozy preparations at The Juniper Hotel to the epic helicopter ride and serene lakeside moments, every detail creates memories that will last a lifetime.
