Intimate Spring Wedding at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

C & S got in touch and, after a shift from their original plan, we were thrilled to hear about their new plan to marry at Chateau Lake Louise with their closest family alongside. As their special day rolled around, we met them at the Chateau for a short and sweet getting ready session in their rooms. With both bride and groom ready for their greatest adventure together, they arranged for a first look with the father of the bride and greeting with the groom's parents before sharing an intimate first look together in the grounds of the hotel.

Outdoor wedding ceremony at Bow Lake in Banff National Park

With the nerves settled, the sense of excitement was rising and it was into the limo with the family for the scenic drive deeper into Banff National Park. We hit the road and cruised to Bow Lake, where we met up with Cole for their outdoor wedding ceremony. Winter conditions were holding on this early Spring season, setting the scene for a snowy ceremony in the fresh mountain air. C & B created an intimate ceremony together, with Cole, and allowed time to exchange personal vows and also a ring warming from all family and friends present. If you’re not familiar with this, it’s an incredibly personal addition to an intimate wedding, where the rings are held by each family member as they share their well wishes and love for the wedding couple. The rings are passed to each person, and finally make their way to the wedding couple to close their ceremony. In true Canadian Rockies fashion, the clouds swirled and the flurries floated around for a magical feel for these two. After the ceremony, it was time for some family photos at Bow Lake and to soak up the scenery before hitting the road for the next adventure.

Banff Adventure wedding photographers capture first dance at Peyto Lake

C & B made plans to show their family the incredible views at Peyto Lake. As the family headed to the main viewing platform for some sightseeing, we stole away for a few more intimate photos and a first dance, tucked away in the mountains. The sun broke through the swirling clouds and created some ever-changing conditions which was a joy to photograph.

Intimate wedding reception at Chateau Lake Louise

Back at the Chateau, the team at the Fairmont had done an amazing job at setting up the LeFroy Room for their family dinner and private cocktail bar. The decor was close to the heart’s of C’s family, with Disney inspired touches around the room. Even with the stunning backdrops of Victoria Glacier, it was hard not to notice all the little details. C & B chose their own custom creation by Darci, a specialist baker in Canmore, not just eye-catching but delicious too!

As everyone was getting ready to be seated for dinner, we said our farewells and gave this family dinner the privacy it deserved for their evening celebrations. We are excited to see where life takes these two and have a sneaky suspicion we’ll be crossing paths again in the Rockies sooner rather than later.
