Spring Elopement in Banff National Park

Getting Ready with local Canmore Elopement Photographers

Like many couples through the pandemic, these two soulmates dealt with some changes to Plan A and this paved the way for an incredibly intimate and heartfelt celebration together in the mountains of Canmore and Banff National Park. With a laid back morning in Canmore to get ready, we caught up with these two for some fun photos before getting ready for their first look and outdoor ceremony in Banff.

First Look at Lake Minnewanka

With plans in place for a first look at Lake Minnewanka, we set up with C in place whilst A had the wedding party close by to help put the final finishing touches to her veil and shoes. As the tension mounted, we stepped aside and allowed these two some private space for their first look.

A & C looked so happy to be able to share this moment together and we couldn’t help but smile as they soaked it all in. Now it was time for A to have her first look with their lovable hound Riggs who was clearly having the best day ever following his nose! Let’s just say that the moment was a little too much for Riggs but he did his best.

Outdoor Elopement Ceremony at Lake Minnewanka

With the wedding party back together, it was time to meet with Robin, their officiant and get set up for their outdoor ceremony. Perched up above the lake, out of the wind, A & C shared some personal vows and enjoyed a beautiful ceremony with their closest family and friends in the heart of Banff National Park.

After the ceremony, we spent the afternoon capturing some more memories with the whole elopement party. After some group photos, we continued the celebrations with A & C with some scenic stops in Banff to ensure these two had some amazing memories to honor their day. Before long, it was time to say our goodbyes and let these two get back to their friends to head out to dinner and continue the celebrations!

Intimate elopements are every bit as special as full day weddings and it was a real pleasure to be a part of A & C’s celebrations. Spring is an amazing time to get married in the mountains. Despite never knowing what to expect with the weather, it’s always a little quieter compared to Summer and Fall.
