C & S love spending time outdoors together and made plans to spend their 2 year engagement anniversary in Banff National Park. They made the trip up from Chicago and enjoyed their weekend sightseeing and enjoying all that Banff has to offer. We connected with them about their plans and arranged a session with them for their engagement photos.

Spoilt for choice on where to get their photos taken, location planning was like trying to choose dinner from your favorite menu - you know you are going to be happy with your final decision, but it’s still not easy to choose! The important deciding factor for these two adventurers was to enjoy the experience with some peace and quiet in the mountains. We kept an eye on the weather for their trip and were able to enjoy their first choice location…Peyto Lake.
Spring hiking engagement photos in Banff
At this time of year, it’s a short hike to reach this beautiful spot. The daylight hours are starting to get longer and we were able to enjoy the warm afternoon sun without another soul in sight. It really is a joy to share in couples’ first experience of views like this in the Canadian Rockies. These two were awesome to hang out with and a lot of fun in front of the camera. Time of day and time of season can have a big impact on the landscape, the daylight hours and the feel in your photos. This session was in Spring as our days are getting longer. Due to the location, this place can be snowy for many months of the year so if you are hoping for turquoise waters then save your visit until July and August.
