Icefields Parkway Engagement Session
Traveling from California, these two took on their adventurous road trip from Seattle, up to Vancouver and across the Rockies to see the sights. We had bounced around an array of location ideas, many of which were hanging in the balance of the arrival of snow to our elevated areas in Banff and Kananaskis. After the arrival of a heavy snowfall we settled on the iconic Peyto Lake which had just reopened from it’s long closure.

With plans in place to meet early at Lake Louise for sunrise at Peyto Lake, we hit the road. With no cell service on the Icefields Parkway, we always make plans to convoy so we can stay in touch as we make the journey together. We love the drive from Lake Louise to Peyto Lake at any time of year. The scenery from the road is among some of the best we’ve seen anywhere in the world. These two would have to wait for the return drive to enjoy it in full daylight! We arrived at the parking lot and grabbed the gear for the short walk to our photo location. The ambient light was increasing and we were ready for the sunrise experience!
Bow Lake Engagement with Canadian Rockies Wedding Photographers
After the light had turned at Peyto, we made our way back to Bow Lake for a second location and to soak up the sun that was warming the valley. The conditions at Bow Lake were incredible, with frosty shorelines and running waterways, we were sure to take advantage of the unique conditions and add some more variety to C & N ‘s gallery. It was lovely to spend the morning with these two in some beautiful locations in Banff National Park and to see them experience them for the first time. After we were finished with photos, these two stayed a while longer in their van and made their mountain breakfast before continuing their road trip south.
