Winter Wedding Photos with Lake Louise Elopement Photographers

Originally from Canada but currently based in Houston, these two returned home for their winter wedding in Cochrane to be with close family and friends. We connected about plans for their trip out to the mountains after their wedding so they could get some more mountain inspired wedding photos at Lake Louise. We were just on the way out of another cold snap here in Alberta and the weather had warmed up to a balmy -16 degrees Celsius. We planned ahead and by paying close attention to the forecasts, timed our arrival for some sunny spells over the ever beautiful Lake Louise.

We toured the grounds at the lake shore and spent lots of time in and out of the warm winter jackets. These two are no strangers to the harsh winters in the Rockies and stole the show out on the frozen ice. Taking advantage of some open water and a crisp reflection, we spent some time getting a nice variety of images through the morning. Given the time of year, it was also great to take a mid session warm up at the Ice Bar at the Chateau for a hot chocolate and some great fireside chat. As we made our way back along the lake, we dipped into the forest for some final photos before heading back to the cars and saying our farewells.
