Summer Wedding at Willow Lane Barn

From the mountains to the prairies with this adventurous couple

Last time we got to hang out with this lovely couple, C & M, was last fall in Jasper for their engagement session and we couldn’t be happier for them to be able to celebrate the way they wanted to with their families and friends close by. We joined them for their Summer wedding at the beautiful Willow Lane Barn and had a blast with them from dawn til’ dusk. Enjoy some of the highlights below.

Getting ready for a central Alberta wedding in Mountain View County

We met the bridal party in the morning and it was nice to see them relaxing in the loft at the barn with Caitlan Hunter for their hair and Beauty by Elina for make up. With the weather moving towards a mid 30 degree day, it was so good to have the comfort of the barn with the doors open and the breeze rolling through. Having spent some relaxing time with the ladies, we touched base with the gents and their getting ready session was flowing on a different frequency with a struggling air con system, hype music and jokes and laughter all around. It’s so nice to see the bride and groom with good friends having a great time in prep for their ceremony.

Outdoor wedding ceremony in the prairies in Alberta

The team at Willow Lane Barn set up the outdoor ceremony area beautifully, backing out over an endless view to the horizon. With everything ready to go, the ceremony got underway with a timeless procession from the barn to the rustic, wooden altar. With a family friend officiating, things couldn’t have been more personalized and intimate for these two on their special day. After the ceremony, guests were able to enjoy the grounds and have some fun together with lawn games whilst we spent some time with the wedding party for some photos together.

Amazing sunset over the prairies for a wedding at Willow Lane Barn

As the evening progressed, guests enjoyed a delicious spread, catered for by RC Eats before all attention was on the speeches and first dances, not to mention a personalized family slideshow. Before the big day, we had planted the seed with C & M that if the weather provide us with something spectacular that evening then we would steal them away for some more intimate photos at sunset. With some light wildfire smoke in the air and some high clouds passing through, the prairies lived up to the occasion and delivered some magical conditions for C & M to enjoy a quiet moment together as the sun set on their first day as a married couple.

Party time at Willow Lane Barn

Once the sun had set it was time for another change of pace to let the party unwind. Cheering, dancing and good times were had all around. C & M saved the bouquet and garter toss until the early hours to wrap things up before the final dances of the night. Spending the day with these two and their closest companions in life was something truly special to be around, thank you for inviting us along for the ride.
