J & B have built their lives in Canmore after a whirlwind of adventures around the world together. When we connected about their plans to tie the knot at the ACC Clubhouse in Canmore we couldn’t have been more excited for them both. They created their celebration around their love for the mountains and being able to share this with their friends in their hometown.
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at the Alpine Club of Canada in Canmore
After an enjoyable morning of getting ready and finalizing the set up of the Clubhouse, the anticipation was beginning to build for their afternoon ceremony. With the groom mingling with friends outside, the bride-to-be had a few final private moments with close family before the ceremony. Before we knew it, the time came for the procession so everyone took their seats in the warm afternoon sun under the calm shade of the surrounding forest.
Exchanging vows outside in the Canadian Rockies
With everyone ready, it was time for this adventurous couple to enjoy their special moment in the presence of the Three Sisters in Canmore. After a personalized ceremony, these two enjoyed a “Leave No Trace” friendly wedding recessional as their guests filled the air and surrounded them both with bubbles. After the ceremony it was time for the Bride and Groom to spend a few quiet moments for some photos before catching up with friends and family with some drinks and photos as the afternoon wore on.

Before taking care of some pre-dinner formalities, we took some time to get some more private moments with the Bride and Groom. The afternoon light softened over the valley and the views, as ever, were spectacular from the Clubhouse of the ACC. Soon it was time to move inside for dinner and enjoy the rustic ambience steeped in mountaineering history that is the Clubhouse. The dining room looked incredible with everything having been set up and arranged beforehand by the bride and groom themselves. It was the perfect setting for a social evening of sharing stories and some fantastic food to follow.
These two had purposefully chosen their favorite local caterers, Trotters, to provide some of their favorite dishes for all of their guests and wrapped things up with an incredible custom cake from Darci, the artisan baker behind Kake by Darci, a renowned local baker in Canmore.
Live stream wedding speeches at Canmore Summer Wedding
With full tummies and a lingering buzz of excitement in the air, the evening moved on towards the speeches. With the groom’s family still dealing with international travel restrictions from Australia, they had a live stream set up, a widescreen TV and with the help of some facetime calls what ensued was a touching coming together of families and friends from around the world to share their love and best wishes.
With some tears had by many, the bride and groom expressed their gratitude to all and turned the attention towards the evening ahead with dancing and more partying to get involved with.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with J & B in our home town of Canmore. It was such a joy to see these two celebrate their adventures in such an intentional way.
