Intimate First Look in Banff National Park

E & J reached out about their plans to elope in Banff and it was exciting to see the plans come together. As their special day approached, we were able to help them envision what things would look like with some videos taken from their ceremony site and some options for their first look. Living close by makes things like this nice and easy and it’s awesome to be able to show current conditions in terms of colours in the landscape and greenery that has/hasn’t come through. From this, E & J were able to confidently choose a place to share their first look and exchange their personal vows to each other before their ceremony. With some patchy rain in the forecast, we came armed with a couple of clear umbrellas for them and things played out beautifully.

As they shared their first look together, their guests readied themselves at the ceremony site, waiting with anticipation for E & J to arrive. With their intimate first look behind them, J made his way to their arch whilst E prepared to meet her father for her walk down the aisle.

The weather held out for the ceremony and even broke through into glorious sunshine for some family photos.

Summer elopement photos at Lake Minnewanka with local Banff Wedding Photographers

Now they were officially married, we made our way to the incredible Lake Minnewanka for some post-ceremony photos, but not before grabbing a quick drink to cool off at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. We had a blast with these two at Lake Minnewanka, making the most of the amazing conditions. We spent some time on the well known lake shore and balanced this with some intimate photos in the forest.

E & J designed their own day (with a little help from some local knowledge!) and gifted themselves the time to enjoy Banff National Park with their nearest and dearest, in a way that they wanted to. We love watching elopements like this evolve and getting to be a part of the plans to capture their once-in-lifetime-moments.
