Summer Backcountry Adventure Session at Berg Lake
Summer in the Canadian Rockies is nothing short of spectacular! With so many incredible places to visit it can be hard to narrow things down to just one. When we teamed up with M & C, there was one bucket list camping trip that was high on their list and it proved to be one of the highlights of Summer. If you love hiking, love Summer and can't get enough of glacial lake views then this is all the inspiration you need!

Knowing M & C were experienced hikers gave this trip the pre-approved, green light instantly. For us, having hiked the entire Berg Lake Trail network before, we were able to shape up the trip with tent pads booked at Emperor Falls and Berg Lake to be able to spend some time at some of the trail highlights along the way.
We planned to meet them at camp for night 1, so they could enjoy the hike out there together and take in the incredible scenery along the way! Once at camp we set up the tents and took the short walk to the nearby waterfall to capture some dramatic images of these two lovebirds under the towering Mt. Robson.

After a night under the stars and an early start we made the short hike to Berg Lake campsite. We chose our tent pads close to the lake and set up for night 2. Talk about a room with a view!
With a beautiful Summer’s day ahead of us we broke up the day and gave M & C some space to explore and spend some quality time together out on the trails. We feel that this is such an important part of our adventure sessions. It’s not all about the photos we take. Whilst they will preserve those cherished memories, we’ve found that it’s the photos we don’t take that are just as important. Providing our couples with some peace and quiet in the great outdoors is all a part of it!

As the afternoon light started to soften, we took to the shore line of Berg Lake to watch the light turn and enjoy the show. With a few clouds swirling through the valley, the withering light broke through to illuminate Berg Glacier, providing the most incredible backdrop.
After some final photos it was time to pour out some Bailey’s hot chocolates and enjoy a few rounds of cards and some great conversation before turning in for the final night of the trip.
With a 22km hike back to the cars and a long drive home, we said our hiking goodbyes from camp.
What an incredible couple of days off the grid with these two adventurous souls! It’s always a pleasure to share these trips with like minded couples and it’s safe to say we came away with some new adventure buddies to continue exploring the Canadian Rockies with.
