Summer Sunset Engagement Session in Canmore
Canmore’s natural beauty, especially during the golden hour of a summer sunset, creates the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable engagement session. These two were ready to roll with the punches the weather forecast was showing and with a happy-go-lucky approach to some light rain wanted to embrace whatever we got!
Pre-wedding engagement photos in Canmore
These two are getting married later in the year and this engagement session was the perfect way to spend some time together, warm up to the cameras and get to know each other more ahead of their wedding. We’re always asked if we would recommend an engagement session and we always find ourselves saying the same thing - “it depends”. For the reasons we just mentioned, it’s a wonderful idea. For those that may already have photos done elsewhere or feel that it is not an important step to take, then that is the feeling to lead with.
Moody engagement photos at Three Sisters in Canmore
We started our session at the well known Three Sisters lookout with some overcast and ominous looking weather. We knew we had a window without rainfall and decided we should take advantage. These two came prepared with an outfit change to add some variety to their photos and were a lot of fun to work with. Couples are always quick to ask us how we deal with awkwardness in front of the camera and as you can see, these two look like naturals.
Spring Showers & Rainbows for sunset session in Canmore
As planned, we swapped locations half way through the session and as predicted some more turbulent weather rolled its way through the valley. That’s the thing with rain here, it’s typically a passing shower and this time around proved to hold true to the forecast and plans we had in place. We enjoyed some surreal conditions and ethereal light as we spent more time capturing some lasting mountain memories for these two. We really feel like karma looks after couples on their mountain celebrations. if you’re happy for “whatever the weather” and focusing on the important stuff…each other, then everything else seems to fall into place.
Simply jaw dropping and conditions that made us fall back in love with an ever so familiar skyline for us. If summer isn’t your thing, then check out some inspiration for fall and winter instead. The seasons offer so much variety that you can really bide your time to opt for your favorite conditions!
We had a blast with these two and cannot wait to document their wedding later this year.
